With the arrival of the fall 2020 TV season, ABC’s World News Tonight returned to its roots. The top-rated newscast reintroduced its iconic theme music, though not the exact version heard prior to 2012, when it was replaced by an entirely new composition. Instead, the show adopted a version recorded in 2002 by composer Edd Kalehoff, which had been shelved at the time and never aired. For the opening headlines, David Muir’s broadcast continues to use a cut from the previous package, originally created by Remote Control Productions.
Do you have the ABC News 2017, 2020 inauguration theme, 2018 Royal Wedding, and “Celebrating Queen Elizabeth” theme?
The headline cue written by Hans Zimmer uses the same musical key as the theme written by Edd Kalehoff.
ABC seems to be (finally) using a commercial bumper theme, you might want to look into it and maybe identify it with one in your collection.
The drum beats do sound like the same ones from the ’98 cuts, however.

Interesting! This cut is actually in both the 1998 and 2000 packages, with differences so minor that it’s hard to tell them apart.
This is abc news never leave it again
