Despite a rough start for George Stephanopolous, a few years into his stint as moderator of This Week he started finding his ways (and an audience). The graphics and theme for This Week have a distinctly fresh appearance, especially compared to its rival programs. The theme has the ABC News emblem.

I know some will agree with me on this but the ’00s was not a good time for This Week, as its ratings were already in the toilet. By the time this theme started being used, along with a retooling of the show’s format (the roundtable would return a little over two years later), This Week’s ratings had reached their lowest point. I believe this theme was used until the outset of 2006 because after that, a newer version of the classic theme (from the Brinkley and Donaldson-Roberts eras) would be used, right up until the summer of 2010.
